Consider the reaction scheme shown below

$$A \xrightarrow {k_1} B \xrightarrow {k_2}C$$

Both the reactions are first-order. The activation energies for $k{_1}$ and $k{_2}$ are $80$ and $20 \text{ kJ/mol}$, respectively. To maximize the yield of $B$, it is preferable to use

  1. $\text{CSTR}$ and high temperature
  2. $\text{PFR}$ and high temperature
  3. $\text{CSTR}$ and low temperature
  4. $\text{PFR}$ and low temperature
